 My Counselling Style

Through my counselling training, I have drawn on the most effective elements of several well‑known counselling and psychotherapy models, bringing them together into a cohesive, tried‑and‑tested approach known as psychotherapeutic counselling.

This integrative way of working allows me to support individuals with a wide range of difficulties, tailoring the therapy to suit your unique needs. It also encourages the development of deeper self‑knowledge and understanding, helping you make meaningful and lasting changes in your life.

My aim

I believe that change is always possible, and that together we can explore what you need in order to move toward the life you want. Therapy can help you build your own ‘toolkit’ of skills, insight, and self‑understanding — creating the resilience and clarity you may be seeking in different areas of your life.

You might be struggling with anxiety or depression. You may have experienced trauma, be finding a relationship painful, or feel lost, disconnected, or without hope. You may not even have a name for what you’re feeling — only a sense that something isn’t right. In all of these situations, good counselling can offer support, understanding, and a way forward.

My role is to listen carefully to what you share, and also to gently notice what remains unspoken. Many of us carry emotional burdens we feel unable to talk about — the painful, the shameful, or the parts of ourselves that don’t fit the image we try to present to the world. Together, we can begin to explore and work through these hidden layers.

“Hearing” what you are not saying is at the heart of this work. Therapy takes time, and it can be challenging, but as our therapeutic relationship develops, I will come to understand you more deeply — and you will come to understand yourself more deeply too.

When you truly know yourself, you become empowered to shape your own life. That sense of empowerment is the foundation and the goal of the therapy I offer.

Here is what a few Clients had to say about me:

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your time, support, patience and (too much to mention)...I wouldn't be where I am now without you.

Your patience and understanding has really helped me with my issues about anxieties and lack of sleep. Thanks loads.

I wanted to say a big thank you really for your support... It has been ridiculously hard but I already know that it has been worth it and I couldn't have got through it without you. Your caring, kind and non-judgemental personality is what makes you a fantastic counsellor... I'm now ready to move forward with the rest of my life - a stronger and more determined person
